About Glasgow Pregnancy Choices
We are a safe place to talk, to explore your feelings and to consider all your options.
Who We Are
We are trained listeners who are totally committed to supporting women and men who are experiencing, or have experienced, an unintended pregnancy. We are aware that it is helpful to have someone who is interested and compassionate, listening to you during your time of uncertainty. Our main role is listening and allowing you to talk through your issues without fear of judgment or conflict.
Who We Help
We support women who are pregnant, or have experienced pregnancy loss, whatever the cause. We also offer support to their partner and to any family members who are affected by the situation.
In our experience, the choices following on from a crisis/unintended pregnancy will affect other family members and wider relationships. Restoring these relationships to ‘normal’ can seem impossible. It is often very difficult, even unthinkable to talk about what has happened, even though it is never far from everyone’s thoughts. We can help you look for a way forward.
What We Do
We offer support to families under stress due to an unintended pregnancy or after a pregnancy loss, including abortion. We offer up-to-date information on the options when facing an unintended pregnancy, and time to talk confidentially with a trained listener about your situation and feelings. Support is available during emotional recovery after pregnancy loss, whether recent or in the distant past.
As we are not a medical centre, we cannot DIRECTLY refer for any Medical Treatments including Termination. However we do discuss all options with clients and can signpost them where appropriate, to other organisations including NHS services.

History
In 1997, a group of people got together to discuss whether they could set up a Pregnancy Crisis Centre in the West of Scotland. Many of them had experienced an unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy loss either personally, through friends or with clients in their workplace. This made them aware of the conflicting emotions and sensitive nature of these crises and the barriers to accessing help. The organisation is based on Christian principles – showing compassion to those in need and respecting their right to make their own choices.
After a period of training and fundraising, the Glasgow office opened in Feb 2000. Our aim was to offer unconditional support to clients and give them an opportunity to discuss their situation in a confidential and safe environment. Our volunteer counsellors receive ongoing training and supervision to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge required for the service provided.
Since then we have had a steady stream of clients with positive feedback.
‘There’s no-one else I can talk to about this”
‘It made all the difference to me in very difficult circumstances’
“This has helped me more than I thought possible’
